Returning to original Southern dominated Third Division?

Are we seeing return to the Southern League, first ever Third Division?

With teams such as Brighton and Hove Albion, Norwich City, Millwall and Charlton Athletic currently occupying League 1 and maybe Albions great rivals Crystal P*lace appearing in this division next season it seems a return to the old Southern League/ early Third Duvision of the early 20th century

Just imagine if Norwich screw up, Millwall and Charlton don’t go up, Southend and Gillingham stay up etc it would consist of these sides that were in the Southern League except Grimsby that went into the early third division with the exception of Charlton who went into it when it split into third division south and north the following season

But original third division sides from southern league that went into first football league third tier included

Club (current league)

Brentford (League 1)

Brighton and Hove Albion (League 1)

Bristol Rovers (League 1)

Crystal P*lace (struggling Championship)

Exeter (League 1)

Gillingham (League 1)

Grimsby (League 2 strugglers)

Luton Town (Blue Square Premier)

Merthr Town ( somewhere in non League)

Millwall (League 1)

Newport County (Blue Square South)

Northampton Town (League 2)

Norwich City (League 1)

Plymouth (struggling Championship)

Portsmouth (struggling Premier League)

QPR (Championship)

Reading (struggling Championship)

Southampton (League 1)

Southend United (League 1)

Swansea (Championship)

Swindon Town (League 1)

Watford (Championship)

Just imagine loads of easy away trips and notable derbys Portsmouth VS Southampton, Brighton VS Crystal P*lace, Luton VS Watford, Exeter VS Plymouth, QPR VS Brentford, and 3 Welsh clubs battling for Pride though Grimsby would be only long trip for most and spare a thought for any Fishermen that travelled from Lincolnshire to away matchs that season!

Almost half the original third tier are currently in same division and should no one move out division the addition of P*lace, Plymouth and possibly Northampton from League 2 would make it 13. The above mentioned sides (except a certain south London side and Grimsby), Charlton and Bournemouth would form original Third Division South.

12th March 2010

Well the flat is certainly mine and as from Monday will be the new third Strike Towers HQ taking over from the current one at Ifield! It brings to an end nearly 4 years residence at Strike Towers II since arriving in June 2006! In that time I have met many people of different walks of life from Eamonn Rea, Jason Lightbody to Lido Chitza! It has been a pleasure to meet you guys.

There has been some great memorys from this place I will take from this place which houses a wonderful 17th century Quaker House! It has entertained some fine guests down the years! But I very much look forward to Strike Towers III which is on the very outer fringes of Crawley not far from the wonderful village of Copthorne!

So don’t be surprised if this website goes a little quiet the next month as I try and settle down at new home whilst initially having little money! Once I have settled down will start looking for work, hopefully with more government schemes being more helpful to young people like me!

6th March 2010

Well the last week has been pretty confusing regarding the flat. I got told by last Friday I would hear about the flat, but did not get told until Monday. On Monday hostel manager Val rang up Moat Housing Assocatition, and heard apparently due to supposed ‘problems’ the flat had it would only be used as emergency accomadation, and I would have to bid for another one. Most of this week I have been a bit down as a result and quiet. I was about to slag off Moat Housing (don’t worry I am just joking), when on Friday Valerie informed me that Moat Housing had rung up and said that the flat is suitable to live in and invited me to an interview and viewing of the flat finally next week. Hopefully the flat should be in a reasonable state and not as bad as they were earlier making out.

I have been recently amazed watching a recent interview how more stunning Anna Kournikova seems than when she was a tennis pro. As the famous PE teacher Francis Fahey once said, she will get better with age just a shame her tennis did not. As some fans and friends will know from school days, Anna Kournikova was a fave blonde Russian tennis star of mine who was top 10 in singles (despite not winning a WTA singles title), and a doubles star. But it not just her playing ablility wowing crowds of teenage boys and adult men in packed stadiums for other reasons in a short tennis career during late 90’s and early 00’s. She was one of my first crushes (we all have them don’t we guys) I had a massive fondness for (although I did not go stalking her or sending endless love letters and naked pictures of myself to her). So much so that it became common at school for pupils and teachers to believe in the myth that Anna Kournikova was the secret girlfriend of yours truly, especially when they discovered the odd photo of the girl in sexy Adidas tennis attire amongst my school work!

I once received a supposed email newsletter mentioning of her having a relationship with a Sussex schoolboy called Charles Ball (then aged 14 and certainly illegal for Miss Kournikova to date unless we escaped to Canada or some other country). To this day no one has claimed responsibility for the email newsletter, although I think I know very well who was behind it at school. I can safely confirm that sadly I have never met or had a relationship with Miss Anna Kournikova. But anyway here is the nice interview discussing what she gets up to nowadays courtesy of World Tennis Magazine! http://www.worldtennismagazine.com/archives/431
